Shuttle services are custom designed in capacity and timing to meet plant and distribution center requirements. A correctly designed shuttle process can take significant cost out in transportation as well as distribution center labor expense. By leveraging our overall supply chain expertise, Jacobson has helped numerous customers improve their plant/distribution center operations while at the same time taking cost out. It is more than just a transportation service, it is integral to your supply chain.
Load Tendering services take advantage of Jacobson’s technology and transportation management expertise. It also allows our customers to have a single point of contact for technology integration and carrier management and ensures complete network visibility in the load tendering and dispatch process.
Pool Point Management and LTL Consolidation services leverage the extensive network of Jacobson facilities and infrastructure to create inbound and outbound pool centers. Jacobson’s program can consolidate multiple vendors within a geographic region which can then create a single inbound material shipment to a manufacturing facility. Single or multiple customer LTL shipments can also be consolidated to create Full Truck Load linehaul shipments to a separate region which Jacobson can then provide multi-stop truckload deliveries or cross-dock services to infuse the product into an LTL network close to the ultimate delivery locations. These processes can take days out of the supply chain as well as help to mitigate damage and improve delivery service and reliability.
